We just finished harvesting! We started on August 26th with the incredible Sauvignon Blanc and the last bunches of our beloved Monastrell were harvested during the last week of October.
It has been an exceptional harvest in quality whose average grade is above the average of recent years and where the balance and health of the grapes stands out especially.
The heavy rains caused by DANA in Alicante were less intense in the height of the valley and the gentle hills of Alto Vinalopó. The warm and dry weather of the following weeks allowed the grapes to finish a good maturation and with a superior quality to previous years.
All the elaborations of the new vintage 2019 are already underway and we have even bottled some white wines. As a novelty, this year we will have an organic white wine for the first time in the winery, coupage of Merseguera and Sauvignon Blanc.
Our oenologist highlights the high quality of the parcelary wines of our Heritage Monastrell, Casa Ritas and Patojo, but also highlights the special elaborations of the wines of Virtudes Cardinales: Justice – Petit Verdot ecological with double layer elaboration, Templanza Rosado – Pinot Noir in stainless steel tanks aged on their lees and Fortaleza – Moscatel Seco fermented and aged in barrels on their lees and with a daily batonage work.
Our enthusiasm is the result of great teamwork, both in the vineyard, in the winery and in the soul of all of us who have been part of the Vintage 2019 of Bodega Las Virtudes.
Thanks also to you for being part of all this.
